How can you receive paid subscriptions?

Creating subscriptions can be a major revenue stream of the future - for all types of individuals and companies.

Traditionally, setting this up would be a gruelling experience involving your bank. This would involve dishing out a long payment address to your users, making the subscription inconvenient and lacking any simple way to manage. Something had to be done to make this process seamless.

In this article, we’ll discuss a modern approach to setting up subscriptions using Subscripe.

Why use Subscripe?

Subscripe takes a 8% cut to handle everything for you. It gives you a profile for receiving subscriptions, and a simple platform to manage them, telling you you all the information you need to receive this money - regardless of where you are in the world. We aim to be a fast and truly internationalized platform, where users can set up subscriptions as fast as possible.

For users, they will simply need to follow a link to your profile, or scan a QR code that will take them there. Then they can subscribe in one fell click and manage that subsciption with ease.

Users will also be able to message you, and have full control of what information of their account to share with you. Giving them whichever level of privacy they seek.

As a Subscripee, you will have an overview of all subscribers on your platform. You can see who subscribed and when, making it as simple as possible to manage. If you still need convincing, you can set what currency your users pay in, and what currency you will be paid out in.

Become a Subscripee

Becoming a Subscripee typically takes a few minutes.

Once you have signed, you can begin verification by clicking -> 'more' on your dashboard menu and heading over to -> 'Become a Subscripee'

Don’t worry if you have to leave for any reason, you can jump out of this process at any point and pick up where you left off.

1. Making Your Profile

A Subscripee profile is different from your regular account. It does not show your email address or personal information to your users in any way.

Instead, you will make a name, (e.g. Your name, your influencer name, or the name of your company) and a username, which will serve as the url for your profile.

You may also add an avatar after you have finished verifying. Your name, avatar and username can be changed at any point in the future.

2. Telling Us About You

Subscripe is meant to be as flexible as possible. This means we support many different types of accounts, including: Individuals, Companies and Non Profits. Letting us know what you are is necessary in documenting what type of account you are for our banking provider(s). Whichever option you select will affect the banking information that is needed of you.

Please be cautious at this stage, as this is the only step which cannot be undone.

As a guideline, if you are acting on behalf of a registered company or registered non-profit, then those options may be appropriate. If not, such as in the case of many content creators, you likely fall under 'indiviudal'.

3. Adding Your Banking Details

Subscripe, as a platform, is not a bank. We do not handle any of your banking information ourselves. In order for you to be paid, we will connect you with our banking provider(s).

Once banking details are added, you will be ready to be paid!

You can access this at any time through our dashboard.

4. Adding Your Subscription Price

You can now add the price of your subscription, the interval (weekly, monthly, or yearly), and the currency your users will pay in. The price amount of the subscription must be approximately in value between €4.99 and €499.99 (adjusted based on currency and exchange rate) per interval.

You may only have one subscription price at a time. You may change this price in the future (a maximum of 1 times per month). However, original subscribers will still pay the orginal fee.*

Receiving Subscriptions

Once complete, your profile will be live and ready to receive subscriptions. Visit subscripe.com/*your username* to view your profile. You may edit your profile in your Dashboard -> 'Settings' -> 'Subscripee Profile'.

Users who visit your profile will be met with the option to subscribe. If subscribed already, they will be met with the option to message you. This can be useful if, for example, you are running a class - for users to message you and let you know who they are!

You may update the price of your subscription once per month. *Existing subscribers will be treated as "grandfathered" and will continue paying the original price they subscribed at. Any new subscriber will pay the new price, as this will be the only price shown on your Subscripee profile.

You will receive a notification every time someone subscribes to you. You can view your subscribers in your Dashboard menu under -> 'More' -> 'Subscribers', and gain valuable insights.
